The brief was for 3 bedrooms upstairs, one fully ensuited and another ensuited bedroom downstairs. The prime emphasis was on indoor/outdoor flow & recreation.
A special feature of this stunning home is the ‘oak’ stained panelled billiard room. Back to back gas fireplaces divide the billiard room from the sitting room & form a focal point in both rooms. A large feature kitchen on the North opens into the dining on the West with views of the mountain. Exterior cladding included timber and stone to blend in with the environment.

The site for the home was a steep narrow triangular shape posing quite a challenge both from a design & construction point of view.The client wanted the home to have an alpine feel & sit comfortably into the site following the fall of the land. They also wanted to capture the mountain views to the North as well as capitalising on the Eastern view to a man made lake. The Replica Homes design achieved all this.
This farmhouse was designed by Trengrove and Blunt to handle the climatic forces of its high altitude. This exquisite single level residence, known as the Riverview Cottage, was designed and built as a luxury holiday retreat. Designed by Replica Homes and sited so as not to impose itself upon the environment, the classic alpine style has been given a contemporary twist.

This two storey residence, known as The Chalet has been designed and built as a luxury five star retreat for couples or families. The main inspiration for the design came from the alpine homes in Colorado.The use of Wairau stone on the chimneys and the base of the posts is complemented by the cedar board & batten exterior cladding. The stonework to the interior face of the chimney in the living area extends 8m to the underside of the roof which is met by the pitched T&G timber ceiling.
Four spacious sleeping areas, two on the ground floor and two on the first floor are separated by the central living area. Each includes a gas fire, large ensuite and walk in wardrobe.
A cosy feeling has been created throughout the residence, due mainly to the warmth of the timber, the natural rich colour scheme, and the inclusion of a gas fire in all main rooms. The quality workmanship, fixtures and finishes are in a class of their own creating a truly luxurious environment.
