Earthquake rebuild with added features
This house is located in the Cashmere Hills area and has lovely views of the valley below. It was substantially damaged in the earthquakes with the foundations slipping away at the base leaving the house on a lean.
The house was insured by MAS, and documentation for the rebuild was produced by Ian Cumberpatch Architects. While the new layout was very similar to the existing, the Architect was able to improve the flow and enhance the views.
The clients took the opportunity to upgrade certain features including adding PVC windows, installing a central heating system and increasing the deck area.
Contract Construction tendered for this project against other reputable builders, and won the contract on the base of price, presentation and known quality.
Work proceeded under the Architect’s watchful eye, and was completed to a high standard using top quality material and sub-contractors.
